Nisga'the society is organized into foursome clans: Ganada (Raven), Gisk'aast (Killer Whale), Laxgibuu (Wolf), and Laxsgiik (Eagle).

Land claim
In May 11, 2000, a land-claim was settled between a Nisga'the United states, the food and drug administration of British Columbia, and the Government of Canada.
